Mission Statement

The mission of Lucas County Children Services is to lead the community in the protection of children at risk of abuse and neglect. This is accomplished by working with families, service providers and community members to assess risk and coordinate community-based services resulting in safe, stable, and permanent families for children.

Accreditation

LCCS is one of only eight public children service agencies in the State of Ohio to be accredited by the New York-based Council on Accreditation (COA). COA is an independent, not-for-profit international accreditor of community-based behavioral health care and human service organizations. LCCS was initially accredited in February 2005, and it remains in effect through 2025. We plan to seek our second reaccreditation at that time. COA accreditation demonstrates accountability in the management of resources, and sets standardized best practice thresholds.

LCCS fights for a better future for our children…
LCCS is working to reduce the suffering
from child abuse in the future
with prevention programs in the community
